Carriage Driving Section[Top of page]
- Classes are for single and multiple hitches; however if 3 or more multiple hitches enter, separate classes may be offered in the pleasure classes.
- Vehicles to be antique or reproductions thereof.
- Harness must be of the type appropriate to the type of vehicle used.
- Whips and their passengers should be dressed conservatively according to the style of the present day. Driving aprons, hats, gloves, and whip in hand are obligatory for drivers.
- Wire-wheeled vehicles are not permitted.
- Headers may be used for single hitches, but must come from within the vehicle. Multiple hitches must carry a header at all times.
- The horse/horses is/are considered the entry. The entry accumulates points even if the driver and/or vehicle changes from class to class.
- High Point Championship will be based on points accumulated in all the classes on a high point basis, but only using one placing from best dressage score. Points will be awarded on a 1 point per horse basis, with a maximum of 8 points. In the event of a tie for championship, the highest placing in the working class will be High Point Champion.

Dressage Section[Top of page]
- All classes will be held in the covered paddock beginning at 9:00AM, Tuesday, June 13, 2000.
- Large (20m X 60m) regulation size ring will be set.
- Footing will be dirt.
- Entries will close at 12:00 Noon, Monday, June 12, 2000.
- Entries will be limited to the first 60 rides. Additional rides will be placed on a waiting list.
- The order of go will be posted by 7:00 PM, Monday, June 12, 2000.
- Ribbons will be presented to the high point and reserve rider at the Introductory Level, the ASHA Training Level, and the ASHA First Level.
- Awards will be presented between classes 9 and 10 during the Tuesday evening session.
- Readers will be permitted, but it is the responsibility of the competitor to know the test and/or arrange for a person to announce the test.
- Current AHSA Dressage Tests and USDF Introductory Tests will be used.
- Each competitor is responsible for supplying management with correct association numbers (USDF, AHSA, AMHA) rider, owner and trainer, before the day of the competition. The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not be counted toward national awards.
- Competitors are also responsible for obtaining copies of the current tests or free style sheets from USDF and AHSA.

Equitation Section[Top of page]
AMHA Medal Classes
- All AMHA Medal Classes will be conducted according to the medal class rules outlined in The Morgan Horse Judging Standards manual
- AMHA Medal Classes are open to junior members of the AMHA who have not reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the prior year (except dressage, hunter over fences and stock seat where exhibitors must be under 21 as of December 1st of the prior year).
- Exhibitors must ride a mare or gelding that is registered with AMHA.
- First and Second place AMHA Medal Class winners qualify to ride in the Medal Class Finals at the next Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show, providing the age eligibility requirement is met.
- Silver Medal winners may not compete in further medal classes in that seat for the remainder of the qualifying year except in dressage where qualifiers may ride, but will not be considered for placing or included in those who count for minimum number required to fill the class.
- In addition to trophies and ribbons a $400 stipend is awarded to the winner of each medal class to be used by the rider to defray the cost of attending the Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show or for post secondary educational expenses. Request for this award must be made in writing to the Morgan Gold Cup Inc. secretary.
116) AMHA HUNT SEAT MEDAL OVER FENCES - To be shown over a figure eight course of not less than six obstacles at 2 feet 6 inches which must include one combination, including an oxer and two changes of lead (change of direction) after the first fence. The same horse may be ridden by more than one exhibitor. If the judge requests additional tests, four exhibitors may be called back to perform at a walk, trot, and canter or to execute two or more individual tests. Individual Tests 1 - 16 may be required. To fill the class, at least three exhibitors must show with proper appointments.
130) AMHA SADDLE SEAT MEDAL - Entries are to enter the ring at a trot and are to be judged at a walk, trot, and canter. They shall be worked both ways of the ring. At least the top four riders must perform two or more individual tests. Individual Tests 1 - 15 may be required. To fill the class, at least five exhibitors must show with proper appointments.
121) AMHA WESTERN SEAT MEDAL - Entries are to enter the ring at a walk or jog and are to be judged at a walk, jog, and lope. They shall be worked both ways of the ring. U.P.H.A. Challenge Cup
100) U.P.H.A. CHALLENGE CUP EQUITATION, 13 YEARS AND UNDER - Rider will show horse at the walk, trot, and canter. The top four riders must be worked individually. More may be worked at the judges discretion. One UPHA Challenge win eliminates that rider from further competition in qualifying classes that season. Winner is eligible to compete in the U.P.H.A. Challenge Cup Finals at the next Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show. Top four places in qualifying classes are eligible to compete in the chapter championship.

Classic, Leadline
128) SADDLE SEAT EQUITATION, CLASSIC HORSE - Open to any Junior Exhibitor 17 years and under. To be shown on a classic horse.
175) LEADLINE, 6 AND UNDER - Class to enter the ring at a flat footed walk. The class will be worked at a walk both directions of the ring at he direction of the Ringmaster. In the lineup the rider may be asked to back the horse in order to help the judge determine the extent of the riders horsemanship. If the judge asks the rider to back the horse in the lineup, the leader should not aid the rider. The rider will be judged on his/her basic horsemanship, the position in the saddle, hands, legs, seat, and back positions. The horse will be led by an individual 14 years of age or older. A lead strap must be attached to the shank of the bit or to a halter that is under or over the bridle so that while the rider is on the rail the horse can be controlled by the leader. Judging will based on 50% of the riders horsemanship, 25% suitability of the horse and rider, and 25% on neatness and appropriate attire of rider and leader. May be shown under western, hunt, or saddle seat tack. Children in the class may only enter class 138 as an additional class in this show. Each exhibitor will receive a momento of the class courtesy of Ann and the late Merle Aughinbaugh.

Working Hunter Section[Top of page]
71) WORKING HUNTER UNDER SADDLE - To be shown at a walk, trot, canter,and hand gallop both ways of the ring. Light contact with the mouth is required. Horses should be obedient, alert, responsive, and move freely. They should not be eliminated for slight errors. No more than eight will be ask to hand gallop at one time.
117) WORKING HUNTER OVER FENCES I - To be shown over a course of at least 6 fences and judged on performance and soundness only. Fences not to exceed 2 feet 6 inches.
118) WORKING HUNTER OVER FENCES II - To be shown over a course of at least 6 fences and judged on performance and soundness only. Fences not to exceed 3 feet.
119) HUNTER HACK - To be shown at a walk, trot, and canter. Horses will be asked to jump two fences 2 feet to 2 feet 6 inches and hand gallop one way of the ring. To be judged on performance and soundness.

Miscellaneous Classes Section[Top of page]
139) STICK HORSE - Open to exhibitors 6 years and under. Exhibitors must provide own stick horses. Costumes are encouraged. No entry fee. Must enter class and obtain number at Show Secretary's office.
103) ROAD HACK - To be shown at a walk, trot, canter, and hand gallop. At any time during the class the judge may ask the horse to halt and walk off on a loose rein. The number of horses at the hand gallop may be limited for safety reasons. Excessive speed at the hand gallop should be penalized.
140) TRAIL - To be shown individually in English or western tack over a course of six to eight obstacles. To be judged for soundness, type, confirmation, and performance with emphasis on manners.
